Nourishing Meals Kids Need to Thrive

OCDC follows all USDA guidelines. We supply 3 healthy and balanced meals each day as well as 2 snacks for children over the age of 1 year. Teachers will sit and eat with the children, while encouraging (but never forcing) children to try foods from each food group.

From Infants to Independent Eaters — Meals That Support Every Stage

Children over the age of 2 will be served family style, encouraging children to decide what to eat and how much. Children who have special dietary needs due to allergies or religious preferences will be provided with creditable food substitutes.

Infants will be fed on their own schedule. OCDC will provide 1 milk based and 1 soy based formula that parents may choose to utilize for their child. Families may also provide their own formula or breast milk. Purees and rice cereal will be provided for children over the age of 6 months. Infants who are learning to feed themselves will be given menu listed meals and snacks as they are age appropriate.

Menus will be changed each week and on a 6 week rotation. They will be posted online, in each classroom, and on the parent bulletin board. Changes made to the menu will be communicated via Bright Wheel and on the posted menus throughout the center.
